Peter Wenzel
Peter Wenzel is part of the Monitoring and Compliance team at the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR). In this role, he undertakes inspections to ensure compliance of Australian organisations working with genetically modified organisms (GMOs); work spanning agricultural and medical research, crop field trials, as well as clinical trials.
A strong focus of the OGTR’s Monitoring and Compliance program is education and promotion of best practice, particularly for those organisations new to the gene technology scheme. This includes outreach visits to assist organisations in understanding and meeting their regulatory obligations.
In a former life Peter was involved in mycological research, and outside of work he enjoys tai-chi and gardening.
