Enzo Porrello
Dr. Porrello received his PhD in Physiology from The University of Melbourne in 2009. He was subsequently awarded an NHMRC/NHF C.J. Martin postdoctoral fellowship, which he completed at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in the USA. Dr. Porrello returned to Australia in 2012 to establish the Cardiac Regeneration Laboratory in the School of Biomedical Sciences at The University of Queensland. In May 2017, he was recruited to the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute where he heads the Cardiac Regeneration Laboratory. Dr Porrello holds a joint appointment at The University of Melbourne (Department of Physiology) and is supported by a co-funded NHMRC Career Development Fellowship and Heart Foundation Future Leader Fellowship. His research interests focus on understanding the mechanisms that control cardiac regenerative capacity during neonatal life.
