Loren L Flynn
Loren Flynn is a postdoctoral research scientist at the Perron Institute for Neurological and Translational Science and at Murdoch University in Perth. Her research focuses on the design and evaluation of antisense oligonucleotides (AOs) and their application in translational medicine. She has over ten years of practical expertise in designing AOs for modulating the splicing and expression of genes in rare genetic and neuromuscular disorders, including motor neurone disease and spinal muscular atrophy. Loren received her PhD from the University of Western Australia in December 2017. Following graduation, she began working with her mentor Professor Anthony Akkari to establish a new research group focused on understanding the genetics of and developing therapies for MND.
