Rebekah M Engel
Dr Rebekah Engel is a Senior Research Officer in the Cabrini Monash University Department of Surgery at Cabrini Health and has an adjunct position in the Epithelial Regeneration Laboratory led by Associate Professor Helen Abud at the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute. Dr Engel completed her PhD in Immunology at the University of Queensland in 2012, undertaking her studies at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute in Brisbane. During her first post-doctoral position at QIMR, she investigated how naturally occurring polymorphisms in T cell receptors contribute to variability in immune response. Joining Cabrini in 2016, Dr Engel’s research is now focused on developing a preclinical test using patient-derived tumour organoids to predict treatment outcomes in colorectal cancer.
